DIN standard for fire department vehicles is modified

Fire departments: DIN standard amended

The installation of a professional extraction system is also essential in fire and rescue stations. Only then can the health of the crew be reliably protected from harmful diesel exhaust fumes. The only effective method is the precise capture of pollutants directly at the "exhaust source".

Until now, however, fire engine manufacturers have placed the exhaust pipes in very different positions, some of which are extremely difficult to access, such as underneath the vehicles.

Our extraction systems for fire engines, disaster control and rescue vehicles enable safe direct extraction even under these conditions. However, standardized exhaust systems offer fire departments clear economic and technical advantages.

This has now also been recognized by the legislator: In 2016, the existing standard E DIN 14502-2 § 3.1.15 will be modified. In future, the exhaust tailpipes must be routed to the outside of the vehicle and thus be suitable for source extraction. This will make it much easier to connect an effective exhaust extraction system! We will be happy to advise you on which system is the best solution for your fire department depot.
